A Move Toward Tyranny

The films below can be found at Youtube.com, but I got them from civicsnews.blogspot.com, another great online news blog which deals with topics discussed in the following videos, plus much more.

A Thought of My Own:Where Have all the Parents Gone

As the controversy over the "Obama Elementary Talk" wages, I begin to wonder what the driving force behind this is? Never in American history has the president ever addressed our young children in such a manner.

Therefore, I am led to ask why? Why is he addressing young students who, for the most part, have no sense of politics and government, nor do they posses the ability to logically asses that which they take in. Rather, students K-6 tend to ad hear to whatever they hear. The conclusion I draw then, is that this administration is looking to do more then have a simple "talk"

What then are they trying to do? To this no one can know for sure, but the entire Obama presidency as been hell bent on creating national unity, and a sense of state pride, not only for the nation, but for the state. I have said it once, and I will say it again: Fascism. It almost seems that this administration will try to raise a generation of youth who look to the state as a form of protection and comfort, and in so doing, will exchange their liberties for a "real sense of security and progress"

Of course, this can all be averted if the parents simply step in, and act on their children's behalf, right? Wrong, according to journalist John Ozberkmen, of the National Expositor, many parents are being told that they do not have the right to control their own children:

At least one school district, Tempe Elementary School District No. 3 in Arizona, is not permitting parents to pull their children out of class during Obama’s speech." “I have directed principals to have students and teachers view the president’s message on Tuesday,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Arthur Tate Jr. said in a statement Thursday. “In some cases, where technology will not permit access to the White House Web site, DVDs will be provided to classes on subsequent days. I am not permitting parents to opt out students from viewing the president’s message, since this is a purely educational event.”

Not only is this a violation of parental right, but the outcome of it is requiring students to watch and listen to our president, even if it is against the will of their parents, who, at this stage in life, must act on their children's behalf. More startling still is the assignment these students were supposed to do after watching Mr. Obama:

According to Fox News, concern arose when one of the lesson plans was released. The lesson plans stated, students in pre-kindergarten through grade 6, are suggested to “write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.” After the speech students are supossed to discuss what, ”the president wants us to do.”

They are supposed to ask what the president wants them to do! Is not the president's job to ask what we want him to do? I find this altogether disturbing in light of the numerous other issues that have taken place over the past 8 months or so. I can but only fear that this splendid experiment began in 1776, is about to end, and fail.

Obama Youth: A Reality

This nation is clearly moving in a fascist direction. The video below clearly illustrates that many youth already feel the need to serve a year for the good of the state, and are campaigning others to do the same; to feel, and be given this sense of nationalistic pride. I am not saying that nationalistic pride is wrong, for it is not, but when we are to forced to serve for the sake of nationalism, that is wrong.

Obama urges citizens to undertake national service

I have been covering this story, and to be honest, I was not sure that it would actually pass. I did not think that Americans were so naive and ignorant to the fact that a national civil an service agency is a bad thing. Yet, here we are. The bill , known as GIVE, has passed. This is totally unconstitutional, un-American, and undemocratic. This is fascist. If you have not followed this story, click the following links to watch the progression of this bill, AND then finish this article. Click Here. Begin at the bottom, the work your way up. THE FILM BELOW, TIES THIS STORY, AND THE ISSUE OF SECESSION, TOGETHER.

WASHINGTON – Calling on Americans to volunteer, President Barack Obama signed a $5.7 billion national service bill Tuesday that triples the size of the AmeriCorps service program over the next eight years and expands ways for students to earn money for college. "What this legislation does, then, is to help harness this patriotism and connect deeds to needs," said Obama, a former community organizer in Chicago.

"It creates opportunities to serve for students, seniors and everyone in between," he said. "And it is just the beginning of a sustained, collaborative and focused effort to involve our greatest resource — our citizens — in the work of remaking this nation."
Joining Obama was Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, who has been battling brain cancer. Kennedy championed the legislation with Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and the bill was named in honor of the Massachusetts Democrat.

Kennedy told the audience that included former President Bill Clinton, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former first lady Rosalyn Carter that Obama's efforts echoed those of his late brother, President John F. Kennedy.

"Today, another young president has challenged another generation to give back to their nation," Kennedy said, citing his brother's advocacy for the Peace Corps.
The service law expands ways for students and seniors to earn money for college through their volunteer work. It aims to foster and fulfill people's desire to make a difference, such as by mentoring children, cleaning up parks or buildings and weatherizing homes for the poor.
"I'm asking you to help change history's course, put your shoulder up against the wheel," Obama said. "And if you do, I promise you your life will be richer, our country will be stronger, and someday, years from now, you may remember it as the moment when your own story and the American story converged, when they came together, and we met the challenges of our new century."

Bolstering voluntary public service programs has been a priority of Obama, who credits his work as a community organizer in his early 20s for giving him direction in life. The president cited his work in Chicago as an example of how one person can make a difference.
"All that's required on your part is a willingness to make a difference," Obama said. "And that is, after all, the beauty of service: Anybody can do it."

Obama visited the SEED School of Washington, a public boarding school that serves inner-city students facing problems in both the classroom and at home, for the signing ceremony.
Afterward, Obama and first lady Michelle Obama joined Clinton to plant trees at a national park site along the Anacostia River in northeast Washington. At the Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, Obama rolled up his sleeves with volunteers from the Student Conservation Association and local public high schools.

"Somebody forgot my boots," Obama joked to the students.
Obama on Tuesday also nominated Nike Inc. vice president Maria Eitel to lead the federal agency that oversees the country's national service programs.
Eitel, who's also president of the Nike Foundation, would have to be confirmed by the Senate to become CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Congress passed the bill last month with largely bipartisan support and Obama is seeking $1.1 billion to fund it next year. Some Republicans complain it is too costly and is an unnecessary intrusion by government into something Americans already do eagerly and in great numbers — helping their neighbors and communities.

The legislation provides for gradually increasing the size of the Clinton-era AmeriCorps to 250,000 enrollees from its current 75,000. It outlines five broad categories where people can direct their service: helping the poor, improving education, encouraging energy efficiency, strengthening access to health care and assisting veterans.
AmeriCorps offers a range of volunteer opportunities including housing construction, youth outreach, disaster response and caring for the elderly. Most receive an annual stipend of slightly less than $12,000 for working 10 months to a year.
AmeriCorps has seen a recent surge in applications, according to the Corporation for National and Community Service, which oversees the program.
In March, the organization received 17,038 online AmeriCorps applications, nearly double those received in the previous month and nearly triple the 6,770 received last March.
Alan Solomont, who chairs AmeriCorps' board, said former President John F. Kennedy's call to service inspired more people to help others than just those who joined the Peace Corps. He said this national service legislation could produce the same effect.
"It is not unlike the moment in 1960 when President Kennedy asked Americans, you know, to serve, but it is certainly going to engage millions more today," Solomont said in a conference call arranged by the White House.

The bill also ties volunteer work to money for college.
People 55 and older could earn $1,000 education awards by getting involved in public service. Those awards can be transferred to a child, grandchild or even someone they mentored.
Students from sixth grade through senior year of high school could earn a $500 education award for helping in their neighborhoods during a new summer program.

Mandatory Service Bill Lives On

Infowars
March 29, 2009

It seemed like a victory, of sorts. Last week the Senate approved a bill to radically expand the AmeriCorps program. The bill initially contained language that proposed a study for mandatory service for all young people in the United States, but this language was removed as the bill moved through the Senate and did not appear in the final version.'

Well, it’s baaaaaaack. The language was stripped from one bill, but it suddenly appeared in another. It is now contained in HR 1444, due to crawl across the House floor this week. HR 1444 is sponsored by Rep. Jim McDermott, a Washington state Democrat, and is assigned to the House Committee on Labor and Education.
The bill, under Section 4 (b)6, states:

Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

How “mandatory service,” i.e. servitude, strengthens the “social fabric of the Nation” is not explained.

HR 1444, like its earlier parent 1388, includes the prospect of a “public service academy, a four-year institution that offers a federally funded undergraduate education with a focus on training future public sector leaders” and reaches all the way down to primary school, requiring a review of “the means to develop awareness of national service and volunteer opportunities at a young age by creating, expanding and promoting service options for primary and secondary school students and by raising awareness of existing incentives.”

That is, “existing incentives” as determined by the government.
In addition to Obama’s election campaign pledge to create a 250,000 strong national security force as big, powerful and well-funded as our combined U.S. military forces, Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has authored a book (The Plan: Big Ideas for America) that calls for three months of compulsory civil service for all Americans aged 18 to 25.
So it looks like the goblin of compulsory national service has not gone away, it has simply morphed into another bill, soon to be considered by the House.

One thing is for certain: the federal government considers you and your children little more than ciphers to be press ganged into mandatory “service” to a government addicted to wars waged in the name of international bankers.

GIVE Mandatory Service Act Strips First Amendment of “Volunteers”

Kurt NimmoInfowarsMarch 24, 2009

On March 18, Rep. George Miller, a Democrat from California, tacked an amendment on H.R. 1388, entitled “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act,” or GIVE (to government), Obama’s plan to require mandatory service for all able young people. Miller’s amendment will “prohibit organizations from attempting to influence legislation; organize or engage in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes; and assist, promote, or deter union organizing,” according to GovTrack.us, a site that tracks Congress.
Obama’s call for a “Civilian Security Force” during a campaign speech in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In other words, Obama’s “volunteer corps” act, passed by the House with a 321-105 margin and requiring the government to develop a plan for indentured servitude, would deny millions of people their right to oppose and organize against government legistation under the First Amendment. “This is as close to a sedition act, a violation of 1st Amendment rights, as has been proposed in recent history. A basic right as a part of our natural, inalienable rights, is to resist government. Our founders not only knew it was a right but it was a responsibility. This legislation begins to break that down significantly,” writes Gary Wood for the Examiner.
GIVE (up your rights) will conscript millions of young people, put them in uniforms and send them packing to 4-year “public service” academies where they will be indoctrinated and trained to become “public sector leaders.”

GIVE was passed by the House on March 18 by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 321 to 105. “At this moment of economic crisis, when so many people are in need of help and so much needs to be done, this could not be more urgent,” said Obama. “It is up to every one of us to do his or her small part to make the world a better place.”

Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

Section 120 of the bill addresses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.”

H.R. 1388 not only reauthorizes programs under the National and Community Service Act of 1990 and the Domestic Volunteer Service Act of 1973, but also includes “new programs and studies” and is expected to be funded with an allocation of $6 billion over the next five years, explains Bob Unruh for WND.

“Many, however, are raising concerns that the program, which is intended to include 250,000 ‘volunteers,’ is the beginning of what President Obama called his ‘National Civilian Security Force’ in a a speech last year in which he urged creating an organization as big and well-funded as the U.S. military. He has declined since then to elaborate,” Unruh adds.
It appears Miller’s amendment is designed to strip members of this emerging “National Civilian Security Force” of their constitutional rights under the First Amendment.

The First Amendment reads as follows: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

According to GovTrack.us, the addition of the Miller amendment to GIVE was agreed to by voice vote.

On March 23, a similar bill was passed by the Senate on a 74 to 14 vote. “From President Kennedy’s days to the creation of Americorps by then President Bill Clinton, the notion of public service has become a rallying cry. Tonight’s vote, propelled by President Obama’s urging of an expansion, would mean a growth in such work from 75,000 community service jobs to 250,000,” reported the New York Times.

House Passes Mandates Natl. Service Bill

In addition to disarming American citizens, a point well made in a previous blog, we must not forget that the Obama administration continues to strive for a national civilian security force. In plain English, Obama is going to require all Americans of a certain age to serve the country. This is unprecedented in our history. This country was voluntarily founded, and it should be voluntarily preserved. I love this country, but if I am going to die for it, I am going to make that decision. I will not allow the government, which the states created by the way, to force me to; especially not an administration I disagree with.

The House passed a bill yesterday which includes disturbing language indicating young people will be forced to undertake mandatory national service programs as fears about President Barack Obama’s promised “civilian national security force” intensify. The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, was passed yesterday by a 321-105 margin and now goes to the Senate.Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”Section 120 of the bill also discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.”

“The legislation, slated to cost $6 billion over five years, would create 175,000 “new service opportunities” under AmeriCorps, bringing the number of participants in the national volunteer program to 250,000. It would also create additional “corps” to expand the reach of volunteerism into new sectors, including a Clean Energy Corps, Education Corps, Healthy Futures Corps and Veterans Service Corps, and it expands the National Civilian Community Corps to focus on additional areas like disaster relief and energy conservation,” reports Fox News. The Senate is also considering a similar piece of legislation known as the “Serve America Act,” which also includes language about “Youth Engagement Zones”.Fears about Obama’s plans to create involuntary servitude were first stoked in July 2008, when Obama told a rally in Colorado Springs, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that is just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”

Despite denials that Obama plans to institute a mandatory program of national service, his original change.gov website stated that Americans would be “required” to complete “50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year”. The text was only later changed to state that Americans would be “encouraged” to undertake such programs.

In addition, Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, publicly stated his intention to help create “universal civil defense training” in 2006.“The bill’s opponents — and there are only a few in Congress — say it could cram ideology down the throats of young “volunteers,” many of whom could be forced into service since the bill creates a “Congressional Commission on Civic Service,” reports Fox.“We contribute our time and money under no government coercion on a scale the rest of the world doesn’t emulate and probably can’t imagine,” said Luke Sheahan, contributing editor for the Family Security Foundation. “The idea that government should order its people to perform acts of charity is contrary to the idea of charity and it removes the responsibility for charity from the people to the government, destroying private initiative.”

Lee Cary of the conservative American Thinker warns that Obama’s agenda is to, “tap into the already active volunteerism of millions of Americans and recruit them to become cogs in a gigantic government machine grinding out his social re-engineering agenda.”CFR luminary Gary Hart hit back at critics, claiming in a Huffington Post piece that, “Resistance to expanded public service programs can be expected from the ideologically sclerotic, those who occupy the negative ground between government as the problem and government as our enemy.”

The frightening prospect of Obama’s mandatory government servitude is covered in-depth in Alex Jones’ new documentary blockbuster, The Obama Deception. "A New Change"

As of yesterday this country saw history in the making; sixty years ago what ensued would have been both un-fathomable, and in many respects, laughable: The First Black President. Such a momentous period, yet, for the Christian libertarian historian, this moment is overshadowed by a variety of fascist jargon, and future plans of this new president: principally, the ever impending notion that Obama is here to save, and thus we, as good citizens of this state, are to serve him. (In case one is not familiar with Fascism, it is a government where the state is glorified, and its citizens are, in many respects, forced to serve it. This form of government was the way of both Hitler and Mussolini during WWII) This is so plainly obvious it makes me nauseous. To watch the inauguration yesterday was to watch thousands of Americans worship a man who is just that: a man. New slogans prove this point, slogans such as "In Obama we Trust" and the desire to do his will, proved no less then by the following:

The mere idea of doing Obama's will ought to make the soul of every christian double back, and understand that such a thing is the equivalent of the Israelites and the golden calf. How is his will to be done? It is to be done by implementing his programs, another cause for concern as Big Government rolls into town, for the mere purpose of glorifying the state. This is fascism, and the American populace is both blind to it, and simultaneously promoting it. We are promoting away our individual freedoms and liberties for the sake of strong centralized government. (Watch the entirety of the following clip, and pay careful attention to the last 15 seconds of it)

"I vow to serve our president" I'm sorry, I thought the president was to serve us. Again, THIS IS FASCISM. In addition, and this point is in no way fully digested, Obama wants to invoke what is nothing less then the Draft called by a different name. This nation was founded forged when the colonies united into one, granted, but that union was only as strong as the desire of the state to remain within it. In other words, this union is voluntary, at least it was prior to the Civil War, and thus, military service should also be voluntary. Compulsory service is against the basic principles of this nation.

Furthermore, this new "savior", he who will "make a new change", has so blatantly positioned himself in the role of a national leader, rather then the chief executive. Let's be poignant here, there is a difference. One leads a nation, the other, executes the laws laid forth by the nation: THE CONSTITUTION. I am not one to play party politics, for I am one of millions who are more then pleased to see the "regime of Bush" vacate the White House, yet, it seems to me that we have traded one tyrant for another. This nation is in no need for a Fuhrer: a German word meaning leader; a term associated, again, with men like Hitler and Mussolini. This is not to suggest that Obama, or even Bush, are in the same league with Hitler, rather, it is my contention that change cannot take place when we have a president who, in his inaugural address, prophetically proclaimed that it is the purpose of a federal government to holistically, and uniformly, transform our society. THIS IS BIG GOVERNMENT.

For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do. (Obama)

He is correct in the need for change, and rapid change; but is it the purpose of government to make these changes? Indeed I say no. The purpose of government is for the protection of the people, not any particular person, and indeed not for the state. WE THE PEOPLE are the government, and we make change, not a progressive government who view themselves as the keeper of the flock. Government is the flock, and we are the shepard's.
